Namji Dolls are made by the Namji tribe in Cameroon, who inhabit the West of North Cameroon. The Namji doll helped prepare the young Namji woman for her role as a mother in her future life. They were also believed to promote fertility.
 
Namji Dolls are carved from solid pine hardwood; they stand on a wood base and are adorned with glass bead necklaces, cowrie shells, metal strips and fiber;
